National Level Virtual Lab Development
First Boot Camp 2019
Rajeev Kumar and his team have successfully organised a 10 days National Level BootCamp 2019 at Virtual Labs, Electrical Department IIT Roorkee. The main objective of this Bootcamp is to involve the new engineers in the Virtual Labs community and trained them about the development of online labs. The 21 students from the 06 institutes have participated in this Bootcamp. These students belong from a Computer Science and Electrical Engineering background. They have successfully developed the 07 web-enabled experiments of the Electrical Machine lab.
Rajeev Kumar and his team delivered lectures on open source software languages and Electrical Machines. Rajeev kumar also discussed the motivation and objectives of the Virtual Labs Project. Apart from the lectures, other various activities have also been done like Hands-on practice on open source languages, content creation. storyboard design and pedagogy.
In the end of this Bootcamp, students give their feedback attached in figure 4. They told that they have theoretical knowledge but they never know how can they use it for product development. But here they learned a lot and this experience will help them for their future projects. They also experienced, How can they efficiently work to be a team member.
